Homestay

Study English in Portland and live in an American home with a Portland family!

We carefully choose our homestay families and we find the family that is the best match for you. All of our families are friendly and kind. They have clean, welcoming houses, and they are eager to open their homes to you.

All of our homestays offer the following:

  • Private room for each student
  • All breakfasts and dinners
  • Daily conversation time with the host family
  • Sightseeing around Portland and Oregon or attending local events or festivals

Adult Homestay Fees

Adult (17+) HOMESTAY FEES

NOTE: To reserve your Homestay, you will be asked to pay a $300 Homestay Deposit, which will be applied to your first month of Homestay.

The Youth Homestay includes:

  • three meals per day
  • daily transportation to and from school
  • 24/7 local and program support

Please note that homestay placement is not guaranteed.

Homestay Placement Policy

For adult students, the Housing Placement Fee, Airport Pick-up Fee, and Housing Deposit must be received before PELA can arrange housing. It takes approximately 2-3 weeks to arrange for an adult homestay.

For youth students, the Housing Placement Fee must be received before a homestay can be arranged.

Adult Homestay Refund Policy

The Housing Placement Fee and Housing Deposit are NON-REFUNDABLE once PELA has confirmed your homestay placement.

The Airport Pick-up Fee is REFUNDABLE if your housing request is canceled before your scheduled arrival in Portland.
