How long have you been studying English?
I have been studying in PELA for 8 months.

Why are you studying English? What do you want to do after PELA?
I am studying English because that can let me meet more people from all over the world and have more opportunities to choose a job. I want to go back my country to find a job.

What is your favorite English class or subject? Why?
I like speaking class because that help me to improve my communication skill a lot.

What part of learning English is the most challenging for you?
Writing. I am not good at writing even use my native language.

What do you do OUTSIDE of class to improve your English?
I like to talk to people, and I think that it’s the best way for me to improve my English.

Give your classmates some advice: How can they improve their English? What helps YOU to be such a good English student?
Speak! Don’t be shy 🙂 Speaking is the best way to learn a language. Focus on the class, and practices it after class.

What are PELA teachers saying about Jasmine?
“Jasmine sets the bar high for what we expect out of our students at PELA. She always asks intelligent questions and participates actively in class. She is curious about everything and works very hard to understand the most difficult of topics.”

 

 


Mohammed “Oni” Almutairi

How long have you been studying English?
I have been studying English for two months. Since September of this year.

Why are you studying English? What do you want to do after PELA?
English is the global language nowadays. It will make me able to get connections, build relationships and expand my career opportunities. After PELA I will back to Saudi Arabia.

What is your favorite English class or subject? Why?
English is my favorite and I do not have any best class in particular, as all classes are great as well as teachers.

What part of learning English is the most challenging for you?
Grammar was a nightmare for me. But I think I am getting better now. And I like this challenge.

What do you do OUTSIDE of class to improve your English?
I spend about 2 to 3 hours everyday studying English, writing new words and reading easy worded stories.

Give your classmates some advice: How can they improve their English? What helps YOU to be such a good English student?
I would say to my classmates be a confident and break the barriers. We all make wrongs so, made one so you get a lesson. Have a passion and be ambitious. Always remember nothing comes easy, hard working is the success key.

“Oni is one of our newer student, though he has already shown great enthusiasm and work ethic towards his studies. He gets his work done, asks intelligent questions, and participates in class. He often helps to encourage others to succeed in class and has tried very hard to improve his English skills.”
