Summer is officially here!
This June we wished students happy June birthdays, notified students of upcoming PELA and Portland events, welcomed the first day of summer, and prepared for what is sure to be a beautiful Portland summer season!
PROGRAM SPOTLIGHT: Guest Teacher Brandon teaches a class about Idioms
Our special guest teacher Brandon Buboltz hosted a FREE class to PELA students about English idioms. The class was completely FULL (actually, we needed to bring in extra chairs), and we hope to welcome Brandon back soon for another class!
Happy Birthday to all PELA students who celebrated a birthday in June! (We only had a few June birthdays, but EVERYONE loves to eat birthday cake!)

First Day of Summer Party!
June 21st marked the official first day of Summer, so we celebrated! We had the ever popular Photo Booth, music, snacks, and an event table where students were able to learn about upcoming PELA events as well as events around the city. July birthdays will be celebrated on Thursday, July 6th
PELA students will go to the Oregon Coast on Saturday, July 8th
Volunteer Class will Volunteer at Portland Night Strike
Last day for students to pay for August term is on Friday, July 28th
End of Term Happy Hour is on Friday, July 28th
New student placement exam and orientation for August is Thursday, July 27
